The housing of the handgears is made of casted aluminum and the gears are made of iron. The inner part of the handgears is filled with grease and then covered by a metal lid. With this type of handgears, the crank can push the basket in only the clockwise direction. By pressing the crank in the opposite direction, we start braking. At extraction, when we stop turning the crank, due to the clutch the basket keeps turning. Turning rate: crank:basket=1:3.
